What I would
do for an iPhone 11 pro max... Or a Samsung Galaxy S9... Or practically any of
the classy phones... You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?
I’ve used
and handled a number of phones over the years. Not a huge lot, but not small
either. Each one as different from the other as their various brands. Shared
memories with some of them as well as distasteful experiences. One of the most
used features on them(not personally though), was the camera app.
With each
new phone, I’d compare and appreciate the camera qualities in terms of clarity,
depth and general feel and look. Till lately, camera quality had not been something
I looked out for in a phone. And by the time I caught on, it had gone to
another level, mainly with those two giants I mentioned earlier.
Camera quality?
Simply how the phone sees what you see. Depending on the
phone, it could be whiter than what you are seeing, not as clear as what you
are seeing, or pretty close.
Over the
years, the general standard for camera quality has steadily increased. At such
a rate that some phones are no longer considered options for purchase. What
happened? After all, the phones weren’t giving out anything other than what they were ‘seeing’. Something entirely dependent on its manufacturers.
What influences our own views?
The way we
see things is affected by a lot of things, from our environment to our
experiences and exposure. Over time, our perspectives are shown in our ethics,
attitudes, actions and reactions. We imbibe a lot of things as we go on in
life, dropping some along the way.
Can your outlooks be changed?
No
particular way can be said to perfect your outlook, as with phones, the camera
quality we appreciate today could become outdated tomorrow. Technology has seen
us from almost black and white, through blurry lens to the iPhones, Samsungs
and Huaweis. Future phones could well show us colours our eyes don’t see. But constant
evolution, in phones and humans contributes greatly to their worth. In no
particular order, these are a few approaches to changing our ‘approaches’.
Accept mistakes
We’re human
and as such, bound to error. Mistakes when misappreciated, can have telling
effects on ones psyche and self-image. Do
and live your best, learn to accept mistakes and learn from them.
“the greatest mistake a man can ever make is to be afraid of making one”
Elbert Hubbard
Change unhelpful habits and attitudes
Little things
can have huge impacts. Not just for negative habits, but the efforts we make to
correct them. However insignificant the efforts may seem, consistence and
persistence are of more essence. Obviously, you can’t correct what you don’t
know, take time to reflect on productivity-inhibiting characteristics that you can
work on.
Stop complaining
Complaining is
a most efficient way of wasting energy and getting nothing done. The popular ‘why
worry’ is a more helpful approach to uncomfortable situations. Most often, what
you complain about are not as hard to take care of once you get into them.
Take action
This post
will be of zero help to you if you don’t decide to act on improving your
outlook and then, your outputs.

folly implemented”

Deciding to
act can be a very scary one and can be difficult. Especially if it is something
you’ve tried and
failed at before. But face it, if you don't evolve, you'll be left behind.
I still want
the phones I mentioned earlier, but I’m sure you get the point now.
What are
your thoughts and takes?
